AEDT is a non-profit organisation representing European retailers specialised in fashion and footwear.
The clothing retail sector is certainly one of the most dynamic and important of the EU economy. There are more than 530.000 clothing and footwear retail companies in Europe. Since 1958, AEDT represents the sector vis-à-vis the European Institutions.
AEDT aims at fostering a favorable business and legal environment for European fashion and footwear retailers.
Its main activities include:
represent and promote the common interests of the sector at EU level
positively contribute to the EU policy making process
deal with fashion and footwear specific issues
disseminate information to its members
carry out European and international projects
gather sectoral statistics and studies & exchange of best practices
answer to questions and requests
AEDT is member of EuroCommerce, of the International Apparel Federation and of the CEN – European Committee of Standardisation.
AEDT is represented in the Enterprise Policy Group of the European Commission.
AEDT Footwear AEDT Footwear is a special sub-group of AEDT. It defends and promotes footwear retailers’ interests at EU level and advises the AEDT Board on ‘footwear-specific’ issues .
